Low tide, Westing beach
Low tide, Westing beach
On an unusually low tide the sand and seaweed of the lower part of the Westing beach is exposed. The bird is a Bar-tailed Godwit (Limosa lapponica), a migrant from the Arctic on its way to western Europe or even Africa for the winter.
