This is the scene looking east towards Stourton, across the chasm.

The severe nature of this collapse shows here dramatically. The embankment has collapsed to the right, with its trees, into the River Stour about twenty metres below.

The breach occurred in the night of Sunday 7th September following continuous rain (and a very wet previous few weeks).
