taken 16 years ago, near to Bishop Auckland, County Durham, England

Auckland Castle chapel: south aisle
The chapel building is one of the few surviving examples of a mediaeval aisled hall. Pevsner calls it "the most beautiful work of the late 12th century the county possesses". The stained glass, however, is late 19th century.
