NG6424 : Dr. MacKinnon Memorial Hospital, Broadford
taken 15 years ago, near to Corry, Isle of Skye, Scotland

The first Broadford hospital opened in An Rathad Ard, Broadford, in September 1914, and was founded as a memorial to the Reverend Donald Mackinnon, Minister of the parish, who died in 1888. The Mackinnon Memorial Hospital was extensively renovated and extended in 1963.
In August 2019, construction began on a new Skye, Lochalsh and South West Ross community hospital, close to the existing building, which when completed in Spring 2021 will replace the old hospital.
The new health facility, costing £20 million, will have 24-beds, a midwife-led community maternity unit, a minor injuries unit, a dental surgery, x-ray and ultrasound facilities.
