St. Anne's Hospital, Appleby (set of 2 images)

The Hospital of St. Anne is an almshouse in Appleby founded in 1651 by Lady Anne Clifford. Alterations were made in the mid-nineteenth century; in 1961 bathrooms and other facilities were added; and in the late twentieth century various alterations were made to the fabric of the buildings. A chapel forms part of the complex and houses are still inhabited.
