Old Milestone off Main Street, Ripley (set of 2 images)

Carved stone post by the UC road, in parish of RIPLEY (HARROGATE District), Main Street, northern end of Ripley, inside cut off old road leading to B6165, on East side of road. Knaresborough stone, erected by the Knaresborough & Pateley Bridge turnpike trust in the 18th century. Inscription reads:- : {pointing hand} / PATELEY / BRIDGE / 9½ : : {pointing hand} / RIPON / 7½ : Carved benchmark on right side base. Milestone Society National ID: YN_KBPB04a.
