Whilst visiting friends, John and Val, we went for a walk along the recently upgraded Coastal Defence Path, which stretches from the Northern end of Fairhaven Lake to the start of Lytham Green ...
... and were delighted to see this fabulous Rainbow lighting the way.
Also, in the view is the distinctive Fairhaven United Reformed Church,
better known locally, and by the many visitors to this area, as The White Churchtext/html2020-11-07T13:35:42+00:00https://www.geograph.org.uk/profile/21474Terry Robinson53.432333 -1.533524SK3192 : New Co-op Store for Oughtibridge, Langsett Road South, Oughtibridge

The controversial Hallam Tower Hotel, opened in 1965. Despite its early success, it closed in 2004, and has been deteriorating since then whilst plans of all types were proposed and never concluded.
Finally, in September 2017, demolition has begun, but, sadly and despite security and safety warnings, not before a 19 year old student, exploring the ruined hotel, fell to his death.
I'm sure the residents of Chesterwood Drive will not miss this monstrous building ... but will be wary of what will finally replace it.

To commemorate the Tour de France 2014, the village of Worrall has erected this sculpture made from parts of 60 unwanted bicycles. It is aptly named 'Up-Cycle' as the unwanted bicycles have been donated by Veolia in partnership with the Green Company and Sheffield City Council.
The Sculpture, which stands 2.5m high, has been put together by local artists
Robin Widdowson and Sarah Beavan-Widdowson ... helped by some of the local villagers.
It is sited on the corner of Haggstones Road and Kirk Edge Road, just a few
feet / metres from the route of the Tour de France's Stage 2, on Sunday 6th July.
