St Matthew's church, Croydon

This Anglican church in South Croydon was built in 1972 to the designs of the Blackheath-based architect David Bush. It replaced the previous church of the same name on George Street in the town centre, in a land swap deal with the developer of the Park Hill estate which the church serves. It is distinctive for the unusual angles in the design, with not a right angle to be seen anywhere in the building, which contains a worship space, community hall and ancillary rooms.
