Ss Peter & Paul church, Bratoft

Saint Peter and St Paul’s church at Bratoft dates from the early 14th century and early 15th century. It is constructed of green Spilsby sandstone mainly of the Decorated and Perpendicular style with a brick west tower which was built in 1747. The nave, clerestory, aisles and chancel were rebuilt in 1890 rather than being restored. The south doorway dates from the 14th century. There are several poppy-headed bench ends, dating from the 14th century, including profile heads, a pair of birds, angels and a little preacher in a pulpit.
