Glengarnock Co-op building

The building on Main Road, near Glengarnock railway station, was once home to several co-operative shops, including a grocer, a cobbler, a dairy and a butcher.

The ground floor has been modified, but a "KILBIRNIE Co-operative Society Ltd" ghost sign survives on the corner.

Ornate carving in the stonework includes many Co-operative symbols such as a pair of shaking hands, various fruits and the words "Unity Liberty Charity". The date 1899 is also prominent above the clock.

About shared descriptions

These Shared Descriptions are common to multiple images.

For example, you can create a generic description for an object shown in a photo, and reuse the description on all photos of the object. All descriptions are public and shared between contributors, i.e. you can reuse a description created by others, just as they can use yours.
