Rutland Gate :: Shared Description

An exclusive street and square of 19th century town houses and some later redevelopments, on the southern boundary of the City of Westminster opposite Hyde Park. The street forms an elongated "square" with a private garden in the centre of the southern part. A full history of the street and its individual houses and some of their famous residents can be found at: 'Rutland Gate: Twentieth-Century Redevelopments', Survey of London: volume 45: Knightsbridge (2000), pp. 152-156.
