Shaggy Dryad's Saddle :: Shared Description

A tree trunk slowly being rotted by the fungus [Polyporus squamosus]. It has been followed since 2008 and initially the fungus fruited in late Spring-early Summer each year, but I think the food supply is running out, and it will not last much longer.
Not sure when I wrote the above, but obviously thought it was running out - not so! It is still going strong 9 years after I first saw it
