Garnethill Park

Located on Hill Street at Rose Street, the park is a fairly recent addition to the area. It was opened in the late 1970s and has been much modified at least twice then. It was built around two mosaic murals which can be seen in some of the photos in this series.

The most recent modification was in 2005 by local artist Ulrike Enslein who laid concrete slabs amongst the granite pathways, each with a quote from a local resident. The quotes tell of the struggles of growing up in Garnethill, and the joy of seeing the area transformed.

This LinkExternal link provides much more information about the park.

About shared descriptions

These Shared Descriptions are common to multiple images.

For example, you can create a generic description for an object shown in a photo, and reuse the description on all photos of the object. All descriptions are public and shared between contributors, i.e. you can reuse a description created by others, just as they can use yours.
