A railway journey up the West Coast Main Line

The journey, on a clear and sunny 18th April 2014, started at Manchester Airport station (known as The Station, which is also a bus station), destination Glasgow Central.

The train joined the WCML at Wigan. The first photo was taken at Lowgill Viaduct, with photos at irregular intervals thereafter until just south of Carstairs Junction.

The return journey five days later was made in less photography-friendly weather conditions.
