Thames Water Tower, Shepherd's Bush
Claimed to be the world's largest barometer, this art installation disguises a steel vent pipe on the Thames Water London ring main. The idea for the barometer was thought of in 1993 by D.O'Sullivan and T. Doufa, students at the Royal College of Art. London architects and technology consultants Brookes Stacy Randall Fursden built the installation. The tower is intended to be filled with blue water which rises and falls according to barometric pressure, but at present is not working.
