A tour of the Barbican

Photos taken on a guided evening tour of the Barbican estate in central London. The whole of the 1960s/70s estate including the 1982 arts centre is now listed grade 2 as a group of buildings, and grade 2* as a park.

The enthusiastic and well informed guide pointed out many architectural features and references that are not obvious to the untrained eye. Much of what he said in detail can be found on the very detailed list description at LinkExternal link so there is no need to repeat it here.

About shared descriptions

These Shared Descriptions are common to multiple images.

For example, you can create a generic description for an object shown in a photo, and reuse the description on all photos of the object. All descriptions are public and shared between contributors, i.e. you can reuse a description created by others, just as they can use yours.
