Old track on Carman Muir
The first-edition OS map (surveyed 1860) shows a 550-metre-long track through woodland. It started at NS37147823, headed WSW to NS36997821, west to NS36827823, and finally NW to NS36647837. By 1897, the area was no longer wooded. By 1939, the track itself no longer appeared on maps. The area was again planted with trees in 2014, at which time the course of the old track could still be discerned on the ground, though only faintly; the new plantation would soon swallow it up. See Link
for an annotated satellite map showing the track.

About shared descriptions
These Shared Descriptions are common to multiple images.
For example, you can create a generic description for an object shown in a photo, and reuse the description on all photos of the object. All descriptions are public and shared between contributors, i.e. you can reuse a description created by others, just as they can use yours.
