Remains of a cultivated plot :: Shared Description

The remains of a cultivated plot, with ridges spaced 1.5 metres apart, can be seen here. The plot measures 75 metres (SW-NW) by 45 metres (ESE-WNW, the orientation of the ridges); only the SW half is easily seen on the ground. Such a plot would normally be found next to a farmhouse, but there are no definite remains of buildings to be seen on the ground here, only small rectilinear areas of shorter vegetation near the north-western edge of the cultivated plot; these could be a faint indication of the former presence of structures. See LinkExternal link for an annotated satellite view centred on these remains, and Link for a Geograph article discussing them in a wider context.

These Shared Descriptions are common to multiple images. For example, you can create a generic description for an object shown in a photo, and reuse the description on all photos of the object. All descriptions are public and shared between contributors, i.e. you can reuse a description created by others, just as they can use yours.
