East window, Beverley Minster
In 1725 all of the mediaeval glass in the Minster was assembled into the east window (probably by Joseph Burton of York), mostly below the transom. Therefore there is a wide range of glass dating from the 13th to the 15th century, as well as some 19th century glass.
In the lower part of the window there are several panels concerning the story of Saint Martin, and some relating to Saint Nicolas. Some panels are made purely from decorative borders which have been re-assembled.
The upper part of the window shows various Saints and profits with, at the top King. Æthelstan and St John of Beverley.
The upper row of figures from left to right: Henry VI?, Saint Peter, a Saint, a Bishop, The Prophet Joel?, Saint Leonard, Saint Paul, Saint James the Less, and Saint Andrew.
