West Coast Main Line Diversion
This extract from the National Rail Enquiries web site Link

Trains are currently unable to run on the West Coast Main Line between Carlisle and Glasgow Central / Edinburgh. This is because urgent repairs are required to a river bridge at Lamington which is located between Lockerbie and Motherwell. The line is to remain closed throughout February while engineers carry out repairs to the damage caused by Storm Frank. At this stage it is anticipated the first trains will cross the viaduct in the first week of March.
Disruption is therefore expected to continue until at least early March.
The following service changes can be expected:
Virgin Trains
Virgin Trains are running a limited train service between Carlisle and Glasgow Central via a diversionary route which will add an additional 90 minutes journey time.
Buses are running between Carlisle and Glasgow Central / Edinburgh, for passengers who wish to travel to and from Lockerbie and Motherwell. The buses will connect to trains at Carlisle for passengers travelling to Penrith, Oxenholme Lake District and Lancaster.
