Winkley Estate

The Winkley Estate was laid out as combined housing and industrial development at the end of the 19th century and is now the core of the Old Bethnal Green Road Conservation Area. According to Tower Hamlets council's document on the Conservation Area, available at [[LinkExternal link]], "Four blocks of old terraced houses between Temple Street and Teesdale Street were demolished by Henry and Charles Winkley for their redevelopment. The Winkley Estate was built between 1898 and 1904 and combined three types of residential accommodation with three small factories, numerous cabinet makers’ workshops and shops on Old Bethnal Green Road."

About shared descriptions

These Shared Descriptions are common to multiple images.

For example, you can create a generic description for an object shown in a photo, and reuse the description on all photos of the object. All descriptions are public and shared between contributors, i.e. you can reuse a description created by others, just as they can use yours.
