Shared description
Dean Clough Mills, Halifax
Much of the site was developed by Crossley carpet company. However the buildings at the eastern end of the site (Bowling Mill, Crossley Mill, etc) were part of the Akroyd-owned series of worsted mills, rather than in Crossley carpet ownership.
The mills closed in 1983. Since then, the site has been redeveloped into a business, arts and cultural centre putting most of the mill buildings to new uses. Many of the buildings themselves are Grade II listed.
