Marine Drive

In 1896 the Scarborough Council decided to link the two bays by the construction of a 1,300 yard link road, around the castle headland, to be known as Marine Drive, from the East Pier to Royal Albert Drive. The road opened in 1908 and is protected by a substantial sea wall.
