Church of Holy Trinity, Goodramgate, York :: Shared Description

Nave and chancel date from the 12th century, with south aisle and south-east chapel from the 13th/14th centuries. The north aisle and tower were added in the 15th century.

A feature of the church is the retention of the 17th century box pews and 2-decker pulpit, it being the only such survival in York. The communion rail and the unusual reredos with the Lord's Prayer, Commandments and Creed are also 17th century.

It was declared redundant in 1971 and is now looked after by the Churches Conservation Trust. Three special services are still held yearly, 2 on Trinity Sunday and a candlelit Advent service in December.

The church is Listed Grade I.
