Dundalk, Newry and Greenore Railway

The Dundalk, Newry & Greenore Railway began operating in May 1873 linking Dundalk with the London & North Western Railway's port of Greenore from which ferries and cattle boats sailed to Heysham, Fleetwood and Holyhead. In 1876 the line was extended from Greenore to Newry. In 1923 the line became part of the LMS network and from 1933 was operated under an agreement by the Great Northern Railway (Ireland). The Newry terminus was at Dublin Bridge Station and that at Dundalk Quay Street. LinkExternal link

About shared descriptions

These Shared Descriptions are common to multiple images.

For example, you can create a generic description for an object shown in a photo, and reuse the description on all photos of the object. All descriptions are public and shared between contributors, i.e. you can reuse a description created by others, just as they can use yours.
