Charles Rennie Mackintosh Mural :: Shared Description

The 60 feet X 40 feet mural at the Clutha Bar was created in June 2018 to mark the 150th anniversary of the birth of Mackintosh. The mural almost never happened as there were objections to the use of the site by Workshop & Artists Studio Provision Scotland (Wasps) LinkExternal link .

Ironically, the mural was unveiled around the same time that Mackintosh's most famous building, the Glasgow School of Art, was being destroyed by a second catastrophic fire in the space of four years LinkExternal link .

Created by local Street artist Rogue One in conjunction with Art Pistol Projects, the mural depicts a monochrome Mackintosh looking through a colour stained glass window which features the Glasgow Rose, which is one of his trademark designs.

These Shared Descriptions are common to multiple images. For example, you can create a generic description for an object shown in a photo, and reuse the description on all photos of the object. All descriptions are public and shared between contributors, i.e. you can reuse a description created by others, just as they can use yours.
