Wakefield Cathedral

The parish church of All Saints contains some elements dating from the 12th to 15th centuries, but it was largely rebuilt 858-1874 by Sir George Gilbert Scott; it became a Cathedral in 1888, beating Halifax to the honour. It is now one of three cathedrals in the Anglican Diocese of Leeds (the others being Ripon and Bradford).

Listed grade I (list entry 1258237).

About shared descriptions

These Shared Descriptions are common to multiple images.

For example, you can create a generic description for an object shown in a photo, and reuse the description on all photos of the object. All descriptions are public and shared between contributors, i.e. you can reuse a description created by others, just as they can use yours.
