Lynford Arboretum

Lynford Arboretum was established just after the Second World War on land that was formerly part of the Lynford Hall estate. At the time the hall, which is now a hotel and conference centre, was used as a forestry training school and it was the trainees who planted the specimen trees that now form the collection of conifers. The arboretum is now managed by the Forestry Commission with help from the Friends of Thetford Forest. It is open to the public and there are a number of waymarked trails giving easy access to all parts of the site.

About shared descriptions

These Shared Descriptions are common to multiple images.

For example, you can create a generic description for an object shown in a photo, and reuse the description on all photos of the object. All descriptions are public and shared between contributors, i.e. you can reuse a description created by others, just as they can use yours.
