The A13 London to Shoeburyness Road
The A13 runs for 41 mile between the east end of London and Shoeburyness at Southend which was traditionally the closest seaside town to East London, providing recreational and leisure activities for Londoners from the dawn of the railway and motoring era. The house building policy of the late nineteenth century led to this route becoming a major suburban commuter artery for London First by rail and latterly by road). Most of the route of the A13 is dual carriageway.
