Former race track, King's Park :: Shared Description

The track, for horse racing, is depicted on the first-edition OS map: LinkExternal link (surveyed 185860). A small part of its former course is still visible, and is marked as an embankment on current 1:25000 OS mapping. Pages 1213 of the paper "Lidar and the Historic Land-use Assessment of the King's Park, Stirling" (Stephen Digney, HES, 2016) discuss the race track and alterations made to its course: LinkExternal link (PDF, 1.8MB).
