Christmas 2019 in Norwich
This year, a new approach has been taken concerning the Christmas lights across the city: the branches of 41 trees have been wrapped with bulbs, with the aim of creating different and more natural patterns as the sun falls and the lights come on. The Christmas lights are not paid for by local authorities or out of the public purse but entirely by the business community.
The Tunnel of Light once again forms part of the Christmas light arrangement and has become one of the most visited attractions at Christmas in Norwich. At 45 metres long, 4 metres high and 6 metres wide, the tunnel is made from 50,000 pulsating LEDs with sequenced lights reflecting the patterns and colours of the Northern Lights.
