Drummond Mill :: Shared Description

Drummond Mill (sometimes known as Lumb Lane Mills) was a complex of industrial buildings on Lumb Lane. It contained a spinning mill, warehouse, spinning shed, and engine house. It was designed by Lockwood & Mawson and opened in 1886. It closed in 2001 and then had a variety of uses until 28 January 2016 when the Grade II listed complex burned down. The buildings were damaged so badly that most of them were demolished, only the chimney and some of the administration offices remained.
