Dower House

Heavily overgrown, derelict and in a dangerous condition 'Corriemar' was once the 'Dower House' for the Silverburn Estate. In 1973 Major David Russell gifted the Silverburn Estate to Leven Town Council and the National Trust for Scotland. After the Russell family left the estate both this house and the nearby Silverburn House, the main estate house, were latterly used for day patients from Stratheden Hospital until 1970.

About shared descriptions

These Shared Descriptions are common to multiple images.

For example, you can create a generic description for an object shown in a photo, and reuse the description on all photos of the object. All descriptions are public and shared between contributors, i.e. you can reuse a description created by others, just as they can use yours.
