Ireland Wood, Leeds

A wooded area of 7.6 hectares in the Cookridge area of north-west Leeds, comprising mostly oak and birch with a minority of various other species. The northern half was the woodland garden of a large Victorian house (Cookridge Lodge) demolished c.1970. The southern half is a scheduled ancient monument concealing the remains of a medieval farm. The woodland is maintained by the Woodland Trust, who allow permissive public access. Source: LinkExternal link
