Demolition of Bury Fire Station :: Shared Description
Bury's former fire station at The Rock was opened in 1967 but has remained unoccupied since 2012 when the service moved into a new state-of-the-art facility at Chamberhall Business Park (SD8011 : Bury Community Fire Station). The site was purchased by Bury Council and in 2014, permission was granted for demolition of the empty building but the work has been subject to many delays and the derelict building fell into disrepair due to damage caused by trespassers, vandals and arsonists. Demolition work finally began in June 2020
