Wortley Recreation Ground

A public park of about 11 hectares in extent in south-west Leeds. Since it appeared on the 1908 OS map, the layout of the northern part not changed much except for the bandstand being replaced with a children's playground, and the addition of a second bowling green and a skateboard area. The southern part (used for football and rugby pitches) was added during the 20th century and is on the site of a former colliery.
