Wylie Park, Renton
A recreation ground at the southern end of Renton, named after a local industrialist (NS3878 : Burial plot beside Renton Trinity Church); see "Wylie Park" at Link
(Vale of Leven website). It is used by Renton Craigandro F.C., and it contains a pavilion and a children's play area.
Locally, Wylie Park is just as frequently, if not more so, referred to as Tontine Park, though that was properly the name of a different park on the other side of the main road. That park is now gone, but the name Tontine Park remains in use, applying to the area of housing later built on that side of the road; see "Tontine Park" at Link (Vale of Leven website).
The 1897 map revision — Link — shows both parks near the top-right corner: Tontine Park is the "Football Ground" near "Dalquhurn Dye Works", while Wylie Park is to its east, marked "Recreation Ground".
