Shared description
Hall Garth, Beverley
Hall Garth is the site of a mediaeval moated residence of the Archbishops of York. It is a scheduled monument. The archespicopal manor was built before 1280. Structures that were built in the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries have also been identified by archaeological excavations. The site was in ruins by the 1540s and parts were used for other purposes up until the late 1950s.
