The pathway bridges over the A14 at Swavesey & Bar Hill

Approximately 2 miles apart the 2 pathway bridges over the A14 at junctions 24 (Swavesey) & 25 (Bar Hill) were opened in mid-May 2020 & mid-July 2020 respectively. That at Swavesey is for a cycleway & footpath, whereas that at Bar Hill carries a bridleway. They are of very similar design, being cable-stayed bridges with the cables suspended from towers that resemble an inverted letter 'Y'. However there is a very significant difference: at Swavesey the arms of the 'Y' straddle the pathway whereas at Bar Hill the arms of the 'Y' lie along the pathway’s centreline causing it to split.
