Shared description
Wirral and Mersey Special – 22 October 1966
Motive power was provided by ex-LMS Fairburn 2-6-4 tank 42233 between Liverpool and Manchester Exchange, then BR standard 4-6-2 Britannia Class 70004 'William Shakespeare' to Birkenhead (Green Lane) and finally ex-LMS 2-6-0 42942 (“Crab” type) thence to Liverpool.
The tour was organised by the Liverpool University Public Transport Society.
