Forth Lines Exhibition at RBGE
This interesting exhibition at the John Hope Gateway of the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, on until 24 April 2022, is part of the Edinburgh Science Festival 2022, and well worth a visit. It is part of the Restoration Forth Project aiming to bring back Sea Grass and native Oysters to the Firth of Forth, where they were once abundant NT0380 : Oysters at Carras Gate. For Forth Lines, which began as a Covid lockdown idea, people from Edinburgh, Fife and East Lothian came together to create an illustrated story through 184 pieces of crafted calico. Each 40cm square, relates to a specific square kilometre of coastline, capturing a vision of its unique natural and cultural heritage, and each is a unique take on its creator’s thoughts, ideas and views in relation to the local environment in the Firth of Forth . The themes relate strongly with the UN COP26 and forthcoming Biodiversity Conference [COP15]. Link
