Oulton Broad to Lowestoft South Docks railway line
This is a journey from Oulton Broad South railway station to Lowestoft South Docks goods yard and factories and industries along the way.
Just east of the station there was a junction to the Kirkley branch line. It was a single-track line designed to service a number of businesses, factories and industries on the southern side of Lake Lothing. This line also served the Kirkley goods depot adjacent to Beaconsfield Road and the Fen Park.
The track-bed can still be followed most of the way.
The final section of the goods yard from the bridge in Mill Road is now a car-park.
The line from the junction is now a road through a residential caravan site, although the remains of the track bed continue between Victoria Road and Dell Road, heading east, gardens were extended and garages etc, built with the old track utilised as access road or footpath. A number of properties have been built on some sections of this line, other parts are cycle paths free from traffic.
