Hereford railway station

Originally (and perhaps still officially) called Barr's Court, on the modern rail network it is now just called 'Hereford'. It was built jointly for the Shrewsbury & Hereford, and Hereford, Ross and Gloucester Railways and opened in 1856. The architect according to Historic England was 'Johnson of Birkenhead', but a plaque on the station itself credits John Penson as the architect, alongside I K Brunel as engineer and Brassey, Peto & Betts as the contractors. The main station building is listed grade II (list entry 1196776).

About shared descriptions

These Shared Descriptions are common to multiple images.

For example, you can create a generic description for an object shown in a photo, and reuse the description on all photos of the object. All descriptions are public and shared between contributors, i.e. you can reuse a description created by others, just as they can use yours.
