Shared description
Via Devana
Via Devana was a name given in the 18th century for a series of Roman roads that probably ran between the military centres of Chester (Roman 'Deva', or 'Castra Devana') and Colchester. Some sections of the route are reflected in modern roads and byways (e.g. the Gartree Road between Corby and Leicester). Elsewhere, particularly in its north-western section, the route is difficult to find. The section between Corby and Leicester is described in detail at Link .
