Invergordon off the Wall - The Invergordon Murals Trail

The town of Invergordon is home to a number of large decorative artworks painted on the walls of various premises at Invergordon – “The Invergordon off the Wall” project.

Invergordon Off the Wall was formed in January 2002 to address the social and economic deprivation of the town following the closure of heavy industries. This was to be done through the creation of a professionally painted outdoor art gallery celebrating the heritage of Invergordon. The artwork was undertaken by a number of artists not all of whom were locals and the Invergordon Mural Trail was officially launched by HRH The Princess Royal in September 2007. Overall, the project has been considered a success, assisting in attracting an increasing number of visitors to the town. The proximity of the local deep water port is a help; the port receives more than 40 visits from cruise ships each year.
