The Edinburgh Biomes

The Edinburgh Biomes project is a 7-year £89.9million project of regeneration for the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh LinkExternal link. All the historic glasshouses are involved [the Tropical and Temperate Palm Houses, built in 1834 and 1856 respectively, are in urgent need of repair and restoration], and the 1967 Front Range Glasshouses. Preparatory work began in late 2021 and site work commenced in September 2022. When work began the cost was estimated to be £70m; two years later it is expected to be £89.9m [near to £100m has also been mentioned LinkExternal link] . Currently £62.5m is assured.
