The New Inn, Selby

This pub on the north side of Gowthorpe (Selby's high street) dates from the early-mid l8th century. It is on CAMRA's national heritage list for the fact that it is little altered internally since the 1934 remodelling by the local Middlesbrough's Brewery, including contemporary stained glass windows and 'Arts and Crafts' style wooden furnishings. The architect for this work was John Poulson, 'maybe one of the few pub commissions he undertook in his own right'. Grade II listed (list entry 1167217).

About shared descriptions

These Shared Descriptions are common to multiple images.
