Another one off the list
Some years ago, I stopped saying “I should do that” and got on and did them. This is one I have ALWAYS wanted to do: ride about all day on the London Underground. So I bought a Zones 1 to 6 travel card and began at Waterloo, just after 8am. During the day I travelled all over the network, taking at least one journey on most of the lines, sometimes more. Some of the trains are a bit bumpy, others 21st-century smooth. The only incidence of note was one Welsh Rugby fan spotting another fan opposite: they’d been at school together but not seen each other since 1978. Ah no, the years (Thomas Hardy) I stopped at 5:45 as it was too dark for any more outside photos, arriving back at Waterloo at 18:03
