Overground walk

Travelling on the London Overground – the part created from the former East London Line south of the Thames – there's a long stretch between Surrey Quays and New Cross Gate stations. The train goes slowly; in places it feels as though it is climbing, then descending. There are industrial buildings all around; a tall chimney, and a huge box that is plainly an Overground train shed. In August 2024, aiming for a better understanding of the route, I took a walk north from New Cross Gate – with the sun behind me – seeking out views of the line; I found much else to fill the camera along the way.
