Former Salford Cinema

An early example of a purpose-built cinema, dated 1912, with elaborate decoration in buff terracotta, Listed Grade II. It took the place of a Scottish Presbyterian church, of which the rear wall survives, the remainder being effectively hew build. Renamed the Rex Cinema in 1937, like so many cinemas it was converted into a bingo hall in the 1960s. This use ceased in the 1980s, and the building has subsequently been home to evangelical Christian communities, thus turning full circle.

About shared descriptions

These Shared Descriptions are common to multiple images.

For example, you can create a generic description for an object shown in a photo, and reuse the description on all photos of the object. All descriptions are public and shared between contributors, i.e. you can reuse a description created by others, just as they can use yours.
